YOU BREATHE THE HISTORY OF THESE PLACES
A SMALL FARMHOUSE
OR ‘MANNARA’
A small farmhouse (‘baglio’ or ‘mannara’) where some of the island’s earliest agricultural activities began, and which today still reigns solitary in one of the most gorgeous bays in Favignana, on the northwest coast of the island.
FROM MANNARA
TO DIMORA
Our goal was to breathe life back into this long-abandoned place, preserving its identity and the magical atmosphere that has always characterised this place, in a location of stunning natural beauty.

THE COURTYARD AND
THE RESTORATION WORK
The history of this place has been re-established by preserving the architectural layout of the courtyard, tracing it wherever it was possible, using original materials, and choosing the traditional elements of the area: exposed-face local stone (tuff); salvaged stone paving slabs; majolica tiles; and Marsala terracotta.
The typical vegetation of the coastal area, low-lying Mediterranean scrub, has been painstakingly preserved and enriched with the plants that have always distinguished these places: agaves, dwarf palms, prickly pears, and olive trees.
